From St Andrew's College

A quiet way for the Andrean community to look after their homes, and to back the school's work in the Makhanda community it calls home.

St Andrew's College has arranged a preferred CleanMyBed service for Old Andreans, parents, and the wider St Andrew's community. A share of every booking goes to the College's community engagement programmes, the outreach its boys carry into the schools, homes and shelters of Makhanda.

An invitation from St Andrew's

St Andrew's College has been part of Makhanda since 1855, and its boys have long believed that an education is measured by what you give back. Community engagement is woven into life at the College, with every boarding House running its own projects each term.

We have arranged with CleanMyBed, the medical-grade mattress sanitising service, to offer the Andrean community a preferred rate. Every booking through this page also contributes to the College's community engagement work.

A cleaner night's sleep at home, and a quiet contribution to the children and schools the boys of St Andrew's walk alongside.

About the community work

St Andrew's College partners with schools and homes across Makhanda. Its boys support the Good Shepherd School, on the very site where St Andrew's first held classes, and Holy Cross School, a farm-community primary near The Monastery, and share a long Anglican heritage with St Matthew's Mission.

The College also supports children directly. Andrean boarding Houses raise funds for children at the Ikayalosizo home in partnership with Child Welfare, arrange birthday celebrations for them, and run weekly clubs and games with the children of the Eluxolweni shelter.

It is steady, hands-on work, House by House and term by term, in keeping with the College motto: Nec Aspera Terrent, difficulties do not deter.

Questions

  • Do I have to be a current St Andrew's parent to use this?

No. The preferred rate is open to the wider St Andrew's community, including Old Andreans, current and past parents, staff, and anyone the College wishes to share it with.

  • How does the contribution work?

Ten percent of every CleanMyBed booking made through this page is paid to St Andrew's College as part of CleanMyBed's monthly settlement, supporting its community engagement programmes.

  • Is the service identical to a standard CleanMyBed booking?

Yes. Same trained operators, same medical-grade equipment, same dry process, same digital certificate. The collaboration changes how the booking value is distributed, not the service you receive.

  • Where does CleanMyBed operate?

Across a growing list of South African territories. The Andrean community reaches well beyond Makhanda, and the booking page will confirm availability in your area before you commit.

  • Is my contribution tax-deductible?

Your CleanMyBed booking is a commercial transaction and CleanMyBed does not issue tax receipts. Questions about donations to St Andrew's College and its community programmes are best directed to the College.

Nec Aspera Terrent

Every booking through this page helps the boys of St Andrew's do more for the Makhanda community they share. Thank you to every Old Andrean, parent, and friend of the College who carries that spirit into the world.
