From the SACS Old Boys' Union

A quiet way for the SACS community to look after their homes, and to support the boys who will follow them through Newlands.

The Old Boys' Union has arranged a preferred CleanMyBed service for SACS Old Boys, current parents, and the wider school community. A share of every booking comes back to the SACS Ithuba Trust, the bursary fund that opens the school's doors to boys whose families could not otherwise afford it.

An invitation from the Old Boys' Union

SACS has always been more than a school. It is a community of Old Boys, current parents, and families who have sent their boys to Newlands for nearly two centuries.

We have arranged with CleanMyBed, the medical-grade mattress sanitising service, to offer this community a preferred rate. Every booking through this page also contributes to the SACS Ithuba Trust, the bursary fund that brings boys from financially disadvantaged backgrounds into the school.

A cleaner night's sleep at home, and a quiet contribution to a young boy's future at SACS.

About the Old Boys' Union

The SACS Old Boys' Union was founded in 1907 to keep the alumni community of South Africa's oldest school connected to each other and to the school itself. Over more than a century, Old Boys have funded Hofmeyr Hall, the Memorial Fields, and the Brewery Hockey complex, among many other contributions to the school's life.

The Union's bursary work is held by the SACS Ithuba Trust, a registered Public Benefit Organisation that provides places at SACS to financially disadvantaged students. Its purpose is simple: that a SACS education should be available to talented boys on the strength of their character and promise rather than the depth of their family's means.

As SACS approaches its bicentenary in 2029, the Ithuba Trust is one of the quiet ways the Old Boys' Union is making sure the school's next two hundred years look like its first.

Questions

  • Do I have to be a current SACS parent to use this?

No. The preferred rate is available to the wider SACS community, including Old Boys, current parents, staff, and anyone the Old Boys' Union wishes to share it with.

  • How does the contribution work?

Ten percent of every CleanMyBed booking made through this page is paid to the SACS Ithuba Trust as part of CleanMyBed's monthly settlement, supporting the bursary work.

  • Is the service identical to a standard CleanMyBed booking?

Yes. Same trained operators, same medical-grade equipment, same dry process, same digital certificate. The collaboration changes how the booking value is distributed, not the service you receive.

  • Where does CleanMyBed operate?

Across the Western Cape and a growing list of South African territories. The booking page will confirm availability in your area before you commit.

  • Is my contribution tax-deductible?

The SACS Ithuba Trust is a registered Public Benefit Organisation and issues Section 18A certificates directly. Your CleanMyBed booking is a commercial transaction; the Trust will issue any applicable tax documentation.
