When diagnosed with allergy to House Dust Mites, the first steps I recommend to my patients are to reduce the exposure to the allergen. The mites are found predominantly in bedding and live off our dead skin cells, so washing the bed linen frequently on a hot cycle and using mattress covers are recommended.
